YouTube is one of the best platforms out there for people to share their opinions and thoughts with the world. And as such, it can be a really daunting task for those that are just starting out on their YouTube journey to figure out where they should start. This article will be going through some of the best advice and tips for those who want to create a YouTube channel with only one click of your mouse.
But first, let’s talk about what will happen if you don’t have an account….
As soon as you create a new YouTube account, you are automatically subscribed to YouTube’s partner program. This is known as monetization, and basically it allows you to collect money from the advertisements that are shown around your videos. But it is important to remember that in order to collect any of this money, people have to be viewing your videos!
So without further delay, here are some awesome tips for making a successful YouTube account!
Tip 1 – Think about your username
An awesome tip I can give you with regards to making a YouTube account is with regards to your username. Usernames on YouTube are limited to 15 characters. However if the name is taken it will only show up as “username”. This means your username could be “username1111” or “username99999”.
So how do you find a good username? Well if you are looking for something simple I would recommend trying the following format:
Your Name YouTubeChannel Name
For example, my name is James so my channel name would be JamesMCollins. I have taken this idea and have created a YouTube account with the same format to see what comes up. My results were pretty interesting, there were some channels that actually already had that name! So what did I do? Simple, I changed it slightly. If the channel was an unrelated content channel, then there was no problem with me using the original channel name. However, if it was a gaming channel, I simply changed the number one to a six and the letters a-m to a-e.
This is because there are actually six different numbers you can use for your username – 001 – 099 – 100 – 200 – 300 – 400. For individual individual channels I would recommend going with something similar to what I have done above.
